Installations Installations Installations

The question provoked with installation remains, “‘is the plane crashing or is it rising up from the depths of the sea?” The artist, a Minneapolis native, fabricated a wooden, half scale airborne skeletal airplane and situated it at a 20-degree compound angle to the gallery floor, denying a relationship to the building. Fifty 3 inch thick thorn vines puncture the fabricated “water surface” and extend to the ceiling, suggesting an aesthetic investigation of the structural characteristics of earth, air and water.
